At the time when the Central government announced to confer Bharat Ratna (posthumously) on agricultural scientist Professor MS Swaminathan, the reports he wrote as the chairman of the National Commission on Farmers are no longer available on the official website of the Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers’ Welfare. Earlier, the ministry’s website had all the volumes of the Swaminathan Commission Report. The report has come to light again as Punjab farmers, who have launched a “Dilli Chalo” protest, have demanded that the crop prices should be determined according to the report of the Swaminathan Commission.

A five-judge Constitution bench of the Supreme Court is set to deliver its verdict in the electoral bonds case Thursday. The causelist, which contains the SC’s business for the day, would generally indicate names of the authors. For those in the legal circles, this would contain clues to hazard a guess about which way the verdict could likely go. However, a change in practice was noticed when the Article 370 ruling, electoral bonds ruling did not indicate the authors of the eagerly awaited verdicts.
