As the release of the movie Dunki nears, the makers of the film shared an engaging behind-the-scenes video titled Dunki Diaries on YouTube. The video features Shah Rukh Khan, Taapsee Pannu and Rajkumar Hirani discussing their experience of filming in an actual prison. The video features the cast discussing their experience of shooting in a real jail.

The video showcases Shah Rukh Khan talking with Taapsee and Rajkumar about filming for Dunki. It also features a picture of the whole cast with Shah Rukh Khan and Taapsee dressed in wedding outfits standing in a jail. Recalling the filming of the scene, Rajkumar said, “Yeh jail hai ek. Humne itne countries dekhe, woh na mein jab English filmein dekhta tha toh mujhe lagta tha jailein humse alag hoti hai. Sanju mein humne jail-wail dekha di thi, toh maine kaha kabhi mauka mile toh wahan ki jail mein shoot kartein hain. Woh sapna pura ho gaya.”
To which, SRK replied, “Main hi mila tha, isko uthake jail mein daal detein hain.” Adding to this, Rajkumar revealed that it was a real jail with prisoners. Both SRK and Taapsee acknowledged that those criminals were dangerous.
Furthermore, Taapsee revealed that the prisoners used to shout near the window where the team’s base was located. In response, Shah Rukh Khan laughed and said he thought they were his fans.
Dunki explores the concept of donkey flight, focusing on illegal immigration to countries such as the US, London or Canada. The film also stars Vicky Kaushal, Boman Irani, Vikram Kocchar, Anil Grover, and Jyoti Subhash. The film is set to hit theatres on December 21, 2023.
