WATCH: Delhi-NCR finds relief as rain douses scorching heat | Trending News

On Tuesday, Delhi sweltered through a record high minimum temperature of 35.2 degrees Celsius, the hottest in 55 years! However, relief arrived swiftly as light rains and gusty winds graced the city on Wednesday night, bringing temperatures down by about six degrees.
By Thursday morning, the Safdarjung weather station recorded a more comfortable 29.6 degrees Celsius, with the maximum temperature dropping to 40 degrees Celsius.
The relatively pleasant weather continued, and much to the delight of the residents, Delhi-NCR witnessed rainfall on Friday. Social media has been abuzz with videos capturing rain showers across the capital city.

Instagram user @filmsbyvickyy shared a reel capturing a much-needed downpour in Delhi. The video showed Connaught Place and nearby spots getting a refreshing drenching.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) issued a statement mentioning that there would be more rain, thunderstorms, and even dust storms. It also warned that temperatures are set to bounce back up to a sizzling 43°C after Friday.
The IMD thinks a western disturbance near Jammu and Kashmir is the reason behind the temperature drop on Thursday. This disturbance caused a cyclonic circulation over Haryana, bringing some light and moderate rain to Delhi.
