Every married woman will understand how they get torn between her in-laws and her birthing family at some point in time. And Meenakshi went through the same. She had anger in her heart, but her in-law’s prestige was also important for her. And it is one of the reasons why she made the video but deleted it later, as her children stopped her from doing so.
Meenakshi further added that she was deeply hurt and was super angry at her husband as it happened on her father’s death. It was the first time we spotted her getting emotional as she welled up remembering the day and stated that she could never forget as it was her dad. In her words:
“It just happened just after two hours. Vo gussa toh, us din ka gussa toh kabhi nahi jayega. In terms of not that I am going to carry it around and show it to him or my mother-in-law, but haan vo jo mere ander ek heartbreak hogya tha, vo dent nahi ja skta. That is gone. How much ever people say, ‘Forgive and forget’, but it was my dad.”
Well, we totally understand Meenakshi’s hurt and anger! In modern times, when India is moving forward, we need more such strong ladies who, without mincing their words, are able to share that their in-laws or husbands were wrong at a point and that their maternal family is as important as their marital one.
