A late-night firing incident at a popular sweet shop in West Delhi’s Tilak Nagar has prompted a police investigation. Around 11.15 pm on Friday, gunshots were fired at the Singla Sweets shop, shattering its front glass, but no injuries were reported.
Local police were on routine patrol in the main market area when they were alerted to the gunfire. Officers from the district’s crime team and Operations unit quickly responded and secured the scene, said police. An FIR has been registered.

“As per the information available so far, two persons had come on a bike, fired bullets towards the front glass of the shop, and left on the bike. Four empty cartridges were found on the spot. No one was hit,” said DCP West Vichitra Veer.
In another incident in June, two men had entered a Burger King outlet in West Delhi’s Rajouri Garden and shot several rounds, killing one man. Police later confirmed that gangster Himanshu Bhau had taken responsibility for the shooting as “revenge” for the alleged murder of one of his close associates.
In May, two men on a bike opened fire at a car showroom in Tilak Nagar. A few days later, the showroom owner allegedly received a call from Himanshu Bhau demanding Rs 5 crore as ransom.
