Dunki is SRK’s third film this year, after Pathaan and Jawaan. The film has crossed the Rs 250 crore mark worldwide as its total earnings in under a week stands at Rs 256.40 crore gross. These figures aren’t comparable to those delivered by Pathaan and Jawan. Both films broke numerous industry records on their way to lifetime global grosses of more than Rs 1000 crore each.
Metros seem to be the primary revenue generators for Dunki. The film, also starring Taapsee Pannu and Vicky Kaushal, had an overall 22.28 percent Hindi occupancy, with the maximum footfall being recorded during the evening shows.
The film is holding it strong despite strong competition from Prabhas’ Salaar, directed by Prashanth Neel. The Telugu actioner is receiving a lot of love from a nationwide audience and its total box office collection stands at over Rs 450 crore worldwide.
