It’s official! Australian actress Yerin Ha is set to join Bridgerton Season 4. She will play Sophie Baek, Benedict Bridgerton’s (Luke Thompson) new love interest. The makers have now shared a video confirming the news.

The video introduces Yerin Ha as the new lead in the Bridgerton universe. While her Regency-era look hasn’t been revealed, she is expected to undergo a stunning makeover.

Sophie Baek was first introduced in Julia Quinn’s An Offer from a Gentleman as Sophie Beckett (the name has been changed for the period drama). She is an Earl’s illegitimate daughter who goes to Lady Violet Bridgerton’s masquerade ball. Ha reportedly worked with showrunner Jess Brownell to incorporate a Korean surname for her character.

Bridgerton Season 4 will dig deep into Benedict Bridgerton’s love life. We see a glimpse of where he’s at emotionally in Season 3 where he’s caught up in a throuple situation. Looks like things are about to change in the upcoming marriage season.

The next instalment is set to premiere in early 2025.
