Rupali Ganguly shared she feels guilty for not being able to be by her son due to work
Rupali Ganguly has led the TRP charts with her show for the last few years. In a previous interview with Pinkvilla, she revealed that being a mother in the show has been challenging as her work often comes in between her role as a mother, and she doesn’t get enough time with her son. Further, the time-consuming traffic hours of Mumbai reduces the available time, which makes her feel guilty for not always being there for Rudransh. She was quoted as saying:
“The production house tries to accommodate our personal lives, allowing us to celebrate significant events with our families. But the guilt of not being there for my son every day weighs heavily on me. It’s a feeling that never truly goes away.”
She added that the TV industry’s long working hours, demanding scenes, and challenging deadlines aren’t easy to manage. In addition, she often feels that she doesn’t exist in her child’s life as she can spare limited time for him. Moreover, when he looks towards her father when he wants anything, she feels non-existent in his life. For the unversed, Rupali’s husband, Ashwin, looks after their son at home when she is at work. The actress concluded that no matter what, this guilt will continue to affect a working mother. In her words:
“It feels like I don’t exist in his (my son’s) life. So, the whole guilt is always there and then you try to overcompensate. That guilt just doesn’t go away, no matter where you go, what you do; the guilt of leaving your child and not being there for him, always stays.”
