Harshvardhan Rane and Vikrant Massey shared screen space and played cousins in the romantic thriller Haseen Dillruba co-starring Taapsee Pannu. The former, who came across the announcement posted by Massey about his retirement on social media, expressed shock over the news as he insisted that Vikrant is a great actor. He further hoped that this is just a PR activity since he expressed his belief that he is one of the great artists of the country.

Among many celebrities, who shared their thoughts on the retirement note shared by Vikrant Massey, some showcased support, some of them requested him to not make this decision, whereas a few others believed that this was a PR stint for the film Zero Se Restart – a documentary of BTS of his blockbuster film 12th Fail. Harshvardhan, although respected Massey’s decision, was of the opinion that the country will lose out on one of its best performers, if this was true.
“He is a man with a clear and centered thought process. I respect his work ethic and look up to his acting process on Haseen Dillruba’s shoot. Hope he gets back to making films like Aamir Khan sir also did after making a similar announcement. These are great artists, and our country needs their presence in our cinema”, he was quoted saying to Bollywood Bubble. He went on to add, “I’m praying this is just some PR activity forced on him by some filmmaker.”
For the unversed, on Monday, December 2, Vikrant Massey took the nation by shock by announcing his retirement on social media wherein he penned a note on Instagram that read, “The last few years and beyond have been phenomenal. I thank each and every one of you for your indelible support. But as I move forward, I realise it’s time to recalibrate and go back home. As a Husband, Father & a Son. And also as an Actor. So coming 2025, we would meet each other for one last time. Until time deems right. Last 2 movies and many a years of memories. Thank you again. For everything and everything in between. Forever indebted.”
On the work front, Vikrant Massey has two films – one with Raashii Khanna and another titled Aankhon Ki Gustaakhiyan which marks the debut of Shanaya Kapoor, in the pipeline for 2025.
