Malayalam singer P Jayachandran passes away
He has almost 1600 songs to his name in various languages and was known best for his romantic melodies. In 1986, Jayachandran received the National Award for Best Male Playback Singer. He also earned several other accolades including the Tamil Nadu State Film Awards, Kerala State Film Awards and J C Daniel Award.
His top collaborators included AR Rahman, Ilaiyaraaja, MS Baburaj and MM Keeravani. Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan and Prime Minister Narendra Modi were among the many who paid him heartfelt tributes. Take a look:

P Jayachandran is survived by his wife and two children.
