Actress Tamannaah Bhatia recently shared her thoughts on fashion, emphasizing how it has played a vital role in her journey of self-acceptance and creativity. Speaking on The Masoom Minawala Show, she said that for her fashion is more than just clothing—it is a way to express herself and embrace her individuality.

Fashion is the way of expression
“I like making stuff that I put on myself. I enjoy doing that—it’s a way of expressing myself,” Tamannaah revealed. Whether it’s jewelry, makeup, or fashion, she sees these elements as extensions of her personality.
Fashion is very empowering
Over the years, fashion has also been a means for the actress to face her own insecurities. “I love fashion. I think I have a lot of myself through fashion, to face my own insecurities,” she shared, highlighting how dressing up has helped her grow more confident. “Fashion helped me accept myself—it is very empowering.”
Fashion lets me show different versions of myself
For Tamannaah, the ability to experiment with different styles has allowed her to present multiple versions of herself to her audience. “Fashion helped me put out different versions of myself to the audience,” she said. Her love for style even extends to an unusual yet relatable sentiment: “There are some outfits, you look at them, and you feel like eating them, they are so good.”
Not every actor needs to be fashionable
However, Tamannaah also believes that being fashionable is not a necessity for every actor. “Every actor need not be fashionable. In India, everyone wants to be fashionable,” she stated, pointing out that individuality should be valued over trends. “Everyone is different from each other; all have different styles and skill sets.”
Actors are here to play characters
She also reminded that actors are primarily performers, not fashion icons. “Actors are not here to become fashion icons; they are here to play a character,” she asserted. When asked about her style inspirations, Tamannaah expressed admiration for fellow actress Shraddha Kapoor. “I love the fashion sense of Shraddha Kapoor,” she said, appreciating her unique style.
