In a recent interaction with Filmibeat, Bobby Deol opened up about his father, Dharmendra’s reaction to his role in the recent film, Animal. The actor mentioned turning emotional at his father’s word of compliment for him and shared how the veteran actor was surprised by the response that his son got for the film. Bobby revealed:

“My dad is a legend and if someone like him says that about me, it is the best compliment I can ever get, and I just love my dad. The other day when I came home, he was on his phone looking at Instagram and YouTube, and he said, ‘sab pagal ho rahe hai tere baare mein. I told him, ‘haanji papa, main aapka beta hu, log pagal toh honge. He is so proud of me and he is so happy.”

Bobby Deol claims that 2023 was the ‘year of the Deols’

Well, the Deol family members have scored massive successes in the year 2023. It all started with Dharmendra’s comeback with the film, Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani, followed by Sunny Deol’s blockbuster performance in Gadar 2. Bobby Deol added to the list with his latest performance in Animal. Moreover, the next generation Deols also marked salient achievements in their lives this year. While Karan Deol got married to his ladylove, Drisha Acharya, his younger brother, Rajveer Deol also made his debut with the film, Dono. Summing it up, Bobby Deol proudly claimed that 2023 was the year of the Deols. In his words:

“It is definitely the Deols’ year. God has been really kind to us. Fans have always been there for my family. Its just that things didn’t workout the way it should have been for us. No matter how they love you, they still want to watch things that entertain them. But, finally after 22 years, my brother gave such a big blockbuster, my dad in that small role got so much magic to his character. No one else could have done, what he did, and that’s why the role became so special. My nephew’s film also came out. It didn’t do well at the box office. He was wonderful in it. This is amazing that in one year, three generations of the Deols came. It has just been an amazing 2023.”

In a previous interview with Pinkvilla, Bobby Deol revealed his mother, Prakash Kaur’s reaction to his cruel-looking role in the latest film, Animal. The actor shared that his mother didn’t like his role since in the film, the character played by Bobby dies at the end. He mentioned that his mother says she can’t see such films of his. Moreover, Bobby added that her mother, Prakash Kaur has been getting a lot of calls from her friends, who now want to meet him.

Bobby once shared whether he took advice from his father or brother for playing a villainous role in Animal

During a press meet event for his film, Animal, Bobby Deol revealed whether he took advice from his father, Dharmendra or brother, Sunny Deol before taking up a villainous role in his film. Bobby revealed that neither of the two of them has played many negative roles in their careers and have instead, done action films. Moreover, he added that he is the first one of the Deols to die on-screen, as neither his father nor brother’s character has ever died on-screen.
