Raghu Ram revealed the reason for leaving Roadies
Recently, in an interview with Untriggered with AminJaz, Raghu Ram shared the reason for leaving Roadies. Sharing his side of the story, Raghu revealed that when he was yelling and getting angry over some issues on the show, it was because it was his thought. He added that it worked for the show as he was honest.
Further in the interaction, Raghu added that the reason why he left Roadies was that there was a lot of intervention and pressure to ‘scream at people’. To make the show a hit, they have to do it, but to do so they might lose themselves. He was quoted as saying:
“As you grow bigger, you feel the pressure to cater. I felt it, that’s why I left Roadies. Rajiv and I walked off because there was too much interference. We were told to scream at people. It’s either that, or you have to dance to their tune. It’s a good problem because you are a success, but now you are no longer you. You belong to them.”
When Raghu Ram revealed how Roadies was the reason for his divorce
Earlier, in an interview with India Today, Raghu Ram shared how the show affected his married life with his first wife, Sugandha Garg, and they ended up in a divorce. He was quoted as saying:
“Personally, my life was going through a lot of upheaval because of Roadies and because of the surrounding craze. My marriage was suffering. Ultimately, I got divorced.”
Further in the interview, Raghu revealed that his mental and physical health suffered a lot during that time, and he had to take a step away from it. He added that he is happy that he walked out of the show and never regretted it. Talking about his comeback on the show with his twin brother, Rajeev, who also appeared as a judge on the show, Raghu said:
“No, not going to happen. We were asked, but no, I don’t want to. I haven’t seen Roadies ever since I left. It is not ‘that’ Roadies now. It is a completely different show with the name Roadies on it. The format can be compared more to the voice than to the previous Roadies. When Rajiv and I walked away that day, that show was over. That particular format was over.”
