The entertainment industry is mourning the untimely loss of Adan Canto, a versatile actor who was best known for his roles in Fox’s “The Cleaning Lady” and “X-Men: Days of Future Past” and “Designated Survivor.” Adan Canto, 42, surrendered to appendiceal cancer after a confidential fight, affirmed by Variety.

In the Fox series “The Cleaning Lady,” Canto depicted the criminal Arman Morales, a role that exhibited his ability and earned praise. The show rotates around a mother, played by Élodie Young, brought into Arman’s criminal world after seeing a brutal murder. With Season 3 presently underway, Canto’s nonappearance leaves a void in the continuous story.

Hailing from Ciudad Acuña, Coahuila, Mexico, Canto’s journey in the entertainment industry began after growing up in Del Rio, Texas. Initially pursuing a music career, he transitioned to acting, making his mark in Mexican TV shows and films. His American acting debut came in 2013 with the Fox crime thriller series “The Following,” setting the stage for a flourishing career.

Canto’s filmography is a testament to his versatility, spanning from the superhero realm in “X-Men: Days of Future Past” to his impactful role in “Designated Survivor” alongside Kiefer Sutherland. Additionally, he lent his talent to Netflix’s “Narcos,” ABC’s “Mixology,” and various films, showcasing a range that left an indelible mark on the audience.

Beyond acting, Canto showcased his creative prowess by directing two short films, “Before Tomorrow” in 2014 and “The Shot” in 2020. His contribution to the industry was not just limited to performances; it extended to the artistic realm, highlighting his multifaceted talent.

Warner Bros. Television and Fox Entertainment communicated their sadness in a joint explanation, saying, “We are heartbroken to learn of the passing of Adan Canto. A wonderful actor and dear friend, we were honored to have him as part of the Warner Bros. Television and Fox Entertainment families since his U.S. debut in ‘The Following’ more than a decade ago.”

Survived by his wife, Stephanie Ann Canto, and two kids, Roman Birch and Eve Josephine, Adan Canto’s heritage in the entertainment world will be associated with his masterfulness, profundity, and vulnerability on screen. The industry mourns the loss of a talented individual whose contributions enriched the cinematic experience. His passing leaves a void.
