As per the reports, one of Chamkila’s friends claimed that Sridevi was a fan of Chamkila’s artistry. Reportedly, Chamkila turned down her offer because he cannot speak Hindi. She also offered him training in the language, but it did not work out. The reports also state that he agreed to do a Punjabi movie with her, but it never received any official confirmation.

Amar Singh Chamkila passed away at the age of 27. He is played by Diljit Dosanjh in his biographical movie. Parineeti Chopra is playing the role of Amarjot, Chamkila’s wife and singing companion.
