Apple might be planning to launch new Macs with M4 chipset sometime later this year. Earlier this month, Apple analyst Mark Gurman claimed that the tech giant will be soon launching new Mac models with the M4 chipset. From launch date to specifications, here’s everything we know so far about the M4 powered Macs.
Are you curious about the much-anticipated M4 powered MacBook Pro, Mac mini or the iMac? Chances are you may not have to wait long. According to known Apple tipster Mark Gurman, updated versions of these devices are all set to launch sometime this fall. Ross Young, another known Apple analyst recently claimed that Apple has started getting display panels for the 14-inch and the 16-inch M4 models.

Like last year, where Apple unveiled new M3 powered Macs at the Scary Fast event in October, the tipster suggests that the M4 powered machines will make their debut in a similar fashion. And while all MacBook Pro models are said to get the new chipset, it is likely that Apple won’t be making any major changes to how these laptops look.

As for MacBook Air, Apple may be planning to launch the new M4 variant sometime in fall of 2025. While both the 13-inch and 15-inch versions are said to feature the new chipset, it is still unclear whether the tech giant plans to make other changes at the moment.
The report also suggests that the M4 version of Mac Studio and the Mac Pro, will be available sometime in the middle of 2025. These machines may be powered by the M4 Ultra and M4 Max chip, but we still don’t have any details on that.
Also, the Mac mini, which is currently available in M2 and M2 Pro versions are also rumoured to get M4 treatment. Gurman also says that apart from the new chips, the Mac mini will be smaller, closely resembling the Apple TV Box’s footprint. It is also said to get “at least three USB-C ports”, a power connector and an HDMI port.
