Arjun Kapoor, the talented actor known for his versatile roles, has candidly revealed the emotional turmoil he experienced while filming Rohit Shetty’s action-packed blockbuster, Singham Again. In a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter India, Kapoor shared that he signed on to the project during a period of profound self-doubt and disillusionment with the film industry.

“I was in a dark place,” Arjun confessed. “I’d lost my love for cinema. I’d watch other people’s work and wonder if I’d ever get another chance. It was a toxic cycle of negativity. I was consumed by self-doubt and anxiety. I’d resort to watching mindless YouTube Shorts to escape reality.”

Despite his internal struggles, Arjun Kapoor committed to the demanding role of Danger Lanka, a menacing villain inspired by Ravana. “It was ironic,” he said. “I was doing my ‘massiest’ movie ever, yet I was disconnected from the very essence of cinema.” (Also Read: Aishwarya Rai and Abhishek Bachchan to Reunite for Mani Ratnam’s Film? )

However, a turning point arrived after the film’s shoot wrapped in May. Kapoor began to rediscover his passion for movies. “I started watching films again, engaging with shows, and most importantly, reconnecting with myself,” he explained. “I realized that happiness was a choice, and I had to actively seek it.”

A pivotal moment came when he watched Only Murders in the Building on Hulu and Mad Max: Furiosa in a solo cinema experience. These cinematic experiences reignited his love for storytelling and reminded him of why he initially fell in love with films.

Singham Again has been a massive commercial success, grossing ₹164 crore domestically in just six days. Kapoor’s powerful performance as the formidable antagonist has been widely praised, solidifying his position as one of Bollywood’s most talented actors.
