Bhumi, who is currently seen in the OTT film Bhakshak said, “I watched Animal… par mujhe hyper-masculine films mein maza hi nahi aata. Aur ye abhi se nahi, bohat pehle se hain.. Hollywood ki bhi action films hain na… mujhe na rom-com, agar mera genre pooche, mujhe woh films zyada pasand aati hai.”

The actor supported the filmmaker’s stance on creating their movie and emphasised the significance of a film as a form of self-expression for the filmmaker. Additionally, the actor highlighted the challenge for the audience in deriving meaning from this self-expression.

Animal was a box office hit, but faced criticism for promoting misogyny and toxic masculinity. The story follows a man returning from the US after his father survives an assassination attempt. Seeking his father’s approval, he seeks revenge on those behind the attack. The film stars Ranbir Kapoor, Anil Kapoor, Bobby Deol, Rashmika Mandanna, and others.
