BTS’ highly anticipated 2024 FESTA culminated on June 13th with a joyous offline event celebrating the group’s anniversary and their unwavering bond with their fans, ARMY. The event marked the much-awaited return of member Jin, who recently completed his mandatory military service. While the overwhelming majority of fans interacted with Jin respectfully and enthusiastically, a few isolated incidents marred the otherwise joyous event.

According to news reports, a complaint was filed with the Seoul Songpa Police Station alleging that some fans had attempted to kiss Jin during the hug session. The complaint cited a potential violation of Article 11 of the Sexual Violence Punishment Act, which pertains to molestation in crowded places.
The police department confirmed receiving the complaint through the National Petition System but clarified that no formal charges had been filed as of yet. They will be reviewing the details of the complaint to determine if a formal investigation will be launched.
At the event, the festive atmosphere kicked off at the Seoul Sports Complex with a variety of interactive programs for fans. From crafting commemorative sketch diaries and selecting messages featuring hidden gifts to creating eco-friendly accessories with the FESTA logo, the activities fostered a sense of camaraderie and excitement among the attendees. The highlight of the day arrived in the afternoon as Jin himself took center stage for the 2024 BTS FESTA offline event. Split into two parts, “Jin’s Greetings” and “Message from Jin: June 13 2024,” the event offered fans a chance to reconnect with the beloved singer.
Jin warmly welcomed 1,000 fans at Jamsil Arena, offering each a heartfelt hug or a handshake depending on their preference. The genuine interaction between Jin and his fans set the tone for the rest of the event. Following the greetings, “Message from Jin” unfolded with a vibrant array of live performances. Jin belted out his solo hit ‘The Astronaut’ to a crowd of enthusiastic fans, their lightsticks creating a dazzling sea of color. He then surprised the audience with never-before-seen live renditions of ‘SUPER TUNA’ and ‘Moon’, with the second verse of ‘SUPER TUNA’ being revealed for the very first time, much to the delight of the fans.
Jin’s playful spirit shone through as he engaged in a variety of fun activities with the audience. From sampling an assortment of delicious dishes like tuna, tanghulu, and zero-sugar drinks to participating in popular TikTok challenges like “Little Cat” and “SevenDaysAWeek,” Jin kept the energy high and the atmosphere lively.
The event also featured heartwarming moments as all seven BTS members penned special handwritten letters to their fans, expressing their gratitude and promising a future reunion. For fans unable to attend in person, Weverse LIVE offered a live stream of “Message from Jin,” reaching ARMY members across 177 countries and regions.
Prior to the offline event, the 2024 BTS FESTA had already garnered excitement with a collection of unreleased group photos and livestreams of past concerts like “BANG BANG CON.” Additionally, Jung Kook unveiled a special song dedicated to ARMY titled “Never Let Go,” a beautiful gesture of appreciation that resonated deeply with fans.
The celebratory spirit extended beyond the online realm with a special banner proclaiming “APOBANGPO” (ARMY Forever, BTS Forever) displayed at HYBE headquarters in Seoul. This meaningful phrase, conceived by BTS in collaboration with BIGHIT MUSIC, solidified the enduring bond between the group and their devoted fanbase.
