Delhi Police Charges Accused With Anti-Terror Law UAPA

Delhi police has filed a case under the anti-terror law, the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA), against the accused in the parliament security breach case, reported ANI. This comes after the Ministry of Home Affairs ordered an inquiry into the security breach in Parliament on Wednesday. An inquiry committee has been set up under Anish Dayal Singh, DG, CRPF, with members from other security agencies and experts. The panel will look into the reasons for the breach in the security of Parliament, identify the lapses and recommend further action.

A security lapse was reported after unidentified persons jumped down from the visitors’ gallery in Lok Sabha during the ongoing Winter Session of Parliament earlier in the day. The intruders had gas cannisters and raised slogans inside the House.

The members overpowered the man and slapped him while he and his accomplice opened gas cannisters releasing yellow smoke inside the Lok Sabha.
