Dharmendra congratulates Mithun on Dadasaheb Phalke Award
Veteran actor Dharmendra congratulated Mithun Chakraborty for receiving the Dadasaheb Phalke Lifetime Achievement Award at the 70th National Film Awards ceremony. President Droupadi Murmu gave the award to him on October 8.
Dharmendra took to social media to hail the actor and congratulate him for his achievement. Sharing a photo of them, he wrote, “Dear MithUN , Congratulations ðÂ¥ÂðÂ¥ÂðÂ¥ÂðÂ¥Âfor Dada Saheb phalke ðÂÂ¥ India’s most prestigious Award . Give my love to everyone at home. i am out of INDIA BUT I WILL DEFINITELY COME TO GIVE YOU A BIG HUG ð¤”
Mithun and Dharmendra shared the screen several times in films such as Ghulami, Watan Ke Rakhwale, Jagir, Hum Se Na Takrana and Ilaaka among others.
Speaking of Mithun, the veteran actor made his debut in 1976 with Mrinal Sen’s film Mrigayaa. This film bagged him his first National Award for Best Actor.
He made his Bengali film debut in 1978 with Nadi Theke Sagare and soon rose to stardom with films like Shaukeen, Ashanti, Disco Dancer, Troyee, Ranjeeta and Kasam Paida Karne Wale Ki among others.
