Arjun Kapoor is being lauded for his role as Danger Lanka in Rohit Shetty’s Singham Again. Arjun Kapoor has always been known for his versatility on-screen. Arjun revealed that he has always enjoyed exploring darker characters and doesn’t believe in being confined to any particular genre or role. In an exclusive interview with Bollywood Hungama, Arjun Kapoor revealed that he doesn’t believe in being restricted to a particular type of character as an actor.

Arjun Kapoor discussed that he really like and open to do negative roles. He said, “I gave a hint in my first film that I enjoy doing this. The first film chooses you, you don’t choose it. Ishaqzaade, Gunday and Aurangzeb all three had negative shades. I had planted that imprint in people’s minds and then I moved on to doing all sorts of work whether it’s a comedy or a romantic film. Today when I look back I think the foundation was late then the payoff is today.”
He added, “I think I’m at the right age, the right time in this industry where these kind of big blockbusters are being made. You need great characters, you need great antagonist and you need unhinged performances. You need people who are not always bound by, ‘my audiences will not accept it.’”
Arjun also reveal that he thinks there is no rule for an actor to stuck into particular character always. He stated, “I’ve done it without thinking about anything and it’s paid off. Ironically I had signed the film and then even last year I think it was a great year between John and Bobby doing so well with antagonist roles. In the past Ranveer has done Khilji as well, so there are no rules.”
He further added, “I think that’s amazing that my trajectory allows me for this door to be opened at this age. I’ve always been a willing actor. I don’t ever shy away from taking risks whether it’s a Sandeep or Pinky Faraar or Finding Fanny. In my generation, I’m one of the few that really has been working with everybody so I think this just allows me to do that with more freedom now. Hopefully better roles being written for people like me who want to do these kind of roles.”
