Sonu Sood’s story is routine except for the cyber crime angle which, incidentally, makes it very technical and, therefore, class-appealing. Since the drama is action-oriented, it is actually the awkward marriage of a class-appealing and very technical subject with mass-appealing action and stunts.On the whole, Fateh is a dull fare and will find the going tough. It will entail losses to all concerned.Opening was weak almost everywhere (again, except in cinemas where admission rates were Rs. 99 today).

But let’s not get too bogged down in the nitty-gritty. Fateh ultimately benefits from Sonu Sood’s strong screen presence, and though the film trips over its own pacing and execution, there’s something undeniably charming about watching him stride through the mess. While the film stumbles, it’s a reminder that Sonu possesses quiet humour, sharp delivery, and sheer on-screen magnetism needed to carry a film. If not for the uneven direction, the film would have ended up as a cult actioner.In short, if you’re a fan of Sonu Sood, Fateh offers plenty of him, albeit surrounded by a muddled mess.

Overall, Fateh fails to provide us with any meaningful content throughout the film. The unnecessarily loud music, murders, and bloodshed in the film do little to raise awareness about cybercrime. The climax sequence, in particular, evoked a sense of a wannabe Animal. A story that talks about the middle class being scammed due to such loan app scams and technology keeps the real people away completely and focuses more on the violence aspect, which is quite tormenting to watch.
