The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) had appointed Gary Kirsten as white-ball head coach just before the T20 World Cup 2024. Kirsten had led India to 2011 ODI World Cup win.

New Delhi: Pakistan’s newly-appointed white-ball head coach Gary Kirsten lashed out at his own players, stating ‘there is no unity’ among the Men in Green after their group stage exit from the ongoing T20 World Cup 2024. Pakistan, champions in 2009, managed just two wins out of four and finished third in the points table behind India and co-hosts USA. Their only wins came against Canada and Ireland.
“There’s no unity in Pakistan’s team, They call it a team, but it isn’t a team. They aren’t supporting each other; everyone is separated, left and right. I’ve worked with many teams, but I’ve never seen such a situation,” Kirsten was quoted as saying by Pakistani journalist Ihtisham Ul Haq on ‘X’.
