With a promise to take audiences into an adventurous action-filled world, set against the backdrop of Roman empires and its politics, Gladiator makes his return. Five days after the posters of Paul Mescal were unveiled, now the makers, Paramount Pictures have unveiled the date of the trailer release and fans of the franchise couldn’t be more excited about it.

New Poster unveiled
While fans are clearly eager to see Paul Mescal take over the role of Gladiator in this 2024 epic historical drama, the makers have teased them with a new poster from the film. Moreover, they have unveiled the same in three different languages, namely, English, Hindi, and Tamil specifically aimed at Indian audiences. Taking to Instagram, Paramount Pictures shared these pictures on Monday, July 8, along with a caption that read, “Prepare to be entertained. Trailer for #GladiatorII debuts TOMORROW”.
About Gladiator II
In an interview with Vanity Fair, as the director Ridley Scott and leading Paul Mescal discussed about the way this role landed on the latter, they also shared tidbits about the storyline of this sequel to the 2000 blockbuster. While readers would be aware that the story of Gladiator follows Lucius, the former heir to the Roman Empire, who becomes a gladiator after his home is invaded by general Marcus Acacius during the reign of co-emperors Caracalla and Geta, the sequel takes off several decades after the events of the 180 AD.
This installment kicks off with Lucius living with his wife and child in Numidia. Roman soldiers led by general Marcus Acacius invade, forcing Lucius into slavery. Inspired by the story of Maximus, Lucius resolves to fight as a gladiator while opposing the rule of the young emperors Caracalla and Geta. Also starring Pedro Pascal, Connie Nielsen, Denzel Washington, along with an ensemble supporting cast, the historical drama will release in cinemas across countries including United Kingdom on November 15 and a week later, in US and Canada, on November 22.
