Authorities have issued a 24-hour red alert, the highest warning level, for the northeastern region of Veneto. Cities like Padua and Vicenza have been severely affected, with streets, homes, and businesses under water. The National Fire and Rescue Service said they have received around 2,500 emergency calls since the flooding started.
There is concern that more rain over the weekend could make things worse, potentially causing additional flooding and landslides.
Many X users have been sharing videos capturing the impact of the flood.
