In bypoll seats, CM Yogi Adityanath makes youth outreach with job fairs, free tablets | Lucknow News
Facing a flak from the Opposition parties over the issue of unemployment during the recently concluded Lok Sabha elections, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is making a concerted effort to woo the youth, especially in the Assembly constituencies where bypolls are going to be held soon.
As part of the effort, rozgar melas (job fairs) and programmes for the distribution of free tablets and smartphones are being organised by the Chief Minister.
Having held rozgar melas in Ambedkarnagar and Ayodhya last week, Adityanath on Thursday held similar events in the Meerapur Assembly constituency of Muzaffarnagar district
where he gave away employment letters to nearly 5,000 youths and distributed free tablets and smartphones. Besides, he promised
to build a “mini stadium” in the constituency for budding sportspersons.
In Katehri (Ambedkarnagar) and Milkipur (Ayodhya) constituencies, the CM had on August 17 and 18 handed over 12,000 appointment letters and 17,000 tablets and smartphones to students. The two constituencies will go to the bypolls.
In the Katehri seat, which fell vacant after its MLA Lalji Verma got elected to the Lok Sabha, Adityanath gave away appointment letters to 6,572 youth. In Milkipur, he handed over 5,574 appointment letters at the employment fair.
In the Meerapur constituency, which fell vacant after Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD) MLA Chetan Chauhan also got elected as MP, the CM gave away appointment letters to 5,000 and free tablets to 1,000 youth under the Swami Vivekanand Yuva Shashktikaran Yojana.
There he invoked former prime minister Chaudhary Charan Singh, claiming that Muzaffarnagar, which once burnt in riots, has now acquired a new identity with development, security and government jobs for youth.
Promising 2 lakh jobs in the next two years, he said, “Nobody can question your ability. The process for the recruitment of 60,000 policemen will start in the state starting August 23.”
Assuring that no one would be allowed to play with the safety of women in Uttar Pradesh, Adityanath added, “Be it roads or a mini stadium, we have okayed all development schemes for this area.”
In neighbouring Meerut district, his government is developing a sports university to not just promote talent in sports but also give government jobs to medal winners, he said.
In Saharanpur where he held a divisional-level review of development schemes and projects earlier in the day, Adityanath asked officials as well as public representatives to take feedback from the public on government schemes and submit the same to the Chief Minister’s Office.
