India is celebrating its 78th Independence Day. The country achieved independence on August 15, 1947, after almost two centuries of British colonial rule. As we celebrate our 78th year of freedom, renowned actor Divyenndu sat with us to offer his take on Independence Day and what it means to be free in the modern world. During an exclusive tete-a-tete with Filmfare, the actor quipped about freedom of expression being the need of the hour.
Divyenndu noted, “I’ve been a student of political science, so this is very close to my heart. I have read and studied about great thinkers like Aristotle, Machiavelli, and more. I seriously feel your freedom of expression is very important. Whoever you are in whatever capacity, you should be free to express your views without any backlash.”
Opening up further, the Mirzapur actor said, “Freedom is to have a society where we all respect each other’s point of view. I think only then we can grow as a society.” He pressed on the importance of joining hands to make our country reach great heights.
On the work front, Divyenndu was last seen in Madgaon Express, opposite Avinash Tiwary and Pratik Gandhi.
