IT Hiring to Rise by 10-12% in Next 6 Months: Report

IT services hiring is projected to grow by 10-12% over the next six months, driven by advancements in technology reshaping industries and economies, according to a report by Quess Corp.

IT hiring demand surged in the second quarter (July-September), with GCCs and cybersecurity roles growing by 71% and 58%, respectively, compared to the previous quarter.

Quess IT Staffing’s report analyzed hiring trends in the first two-quarters of FY25 to provide insights into tech talent demand.

According to CEO Kapil Joshi, India’s strong tech talent pool and innovation are driving a projected 10-12% growth in IT services hiring over the next six months.

The top five in-demand skill suites include Development, ERP, Testing, Networking, and Data Science, accounting for 79% of total demand.

Specialized roles in Java, cybersecurity, and DevOps saw notable growth of 30%, 20%, and 25%, respectively, from Q1 to Q2 FY25.

In Q2 FY25, IT Services firms led tech talent demand at 37%, followed by Hi-Tech (11%), Consulting (11%), Manufacturing (9%), and BFSI (8%).

GCCs drove tech hiring in India, which highly demands AI/ML, Analytics, Cybersecurity, Cloud, and DevOps skills across sectors.

Bengaluru accounted for 62% of tech hiring requests, followed by the West (14%), North (8%), and East (0.4%).

City-wise, Hyderabad had 43.5% of demand after Bengaluru, followed by Pune at 10%.

Due to GCC expansion, talent demand surged across cities, prompting firms to tap talent from tier II and III cities in engineering, IT, finance, and analytics.
