Jaya Bachchan Finally Reacts To Memes Targeting Her
Granddaughter of Amitabh Bachchan and Jaya Bachchan, Navya Naveli Nanda is back with the second season of her podcast, What the Hell Navya. For the unversed, despite not joining the film industry, the star kid wears multiple hats. She is an entrepreneur and is running an initiative titled Project Naveli, which is aimed at addressing gender disparity in India.

In the first episode of Navya Naveli Nanda‘s podcast, What The Hell Navya Season 2, the star kid indulged in some candid conversations about various stereotypes associated with women with her mother, Shweta Bachchan and grandmother Jaya Bachchan. During the same, Jaya asked Navya what she wanted to do in life, and the latter explained the concept of a side hustle to her. Navya said:
“What do you mean? We do multiple things. No one is anymore doing one thing. Young people have something called a side hustle. It’s like a job, a 9-5 job. It could be any job. But while you do that job, you also have something on the side that you are doing.”

Soon, Shweta chipped in and acknowledged Navya’s popularity on the internet, saying, “You are a YouTube sensation, you are an internet sensation, you are a meme generator…these are legit jobs these days, mama.” To this, Jaya wittily responded and quipped:
“I do… I provide meals to people who make my memes.”
Jaya Bachchan reveals she doesn’t mind when people make fun of her
Navya then asked Jaya about her feelings on being a pop culture phenomenon, and the latter revealed that she doesn’t mind when people make fun of her, but added that they should make good memes. In Jaya’s words:
“I don’t mind people making fun of you or laughing at you. I don’t mind, but the people doing the memes are so bad, they should do it properly.”

Shweta Bachchan reacts to the term ‘Jaya-ing’
To this, Navya suggested that Jaya should teach them how to make memes, but the latter denied it. Navya then talked about the viral meme culture around Jaya Bachchan and introduced the term “Jaya-ing”. The star kid shared that it means expressing oneself without caring about opinions. To which, Shweta humorously asked:
“When you are extra salty, it’s Jaya-ing?”
