Singer Justin Timberlake was arrested early Tuesday morning in Sag Harbor, New York, on Long Island, and charged with driving while intoxicated (DWI). The 43-year-old pop star was arraigned later that morning and released without bail.

According to a report in Variety, police said Timberlake was pulled over after failing to stop at a stop sign and swerving out of his lane. The officer who stopped him suspected intoxication and Timberlake reportedly refused a breathalyzer test. In addition to the DWI charge, Timberlake was also cited for running a stop sign and failing to stay in his lane.
Timberlake’s attorney, Ed Burke, confirmed the charges and stated that Timberlake would plead not guilty. Burke also revealed that Timberlake could face complications with his current tour schedule due to his upcoming court date on July 26, which coincides with a concert in Poland.
The Sag Harbor Police Department released a statement detailing the arrest, which occurred around 12:37 am on June 18. Timberlake was reportedly driving a 2025 BMW southbound on Madison Street when he failed to stop at a stop sign and drifted out of his lane. The officer initiated a traffic stop and determined Timberlake was intoxicated. He was arrested and held overnight before his arraignment the following morning.
This arrest comes amidst Timberlake’s “Forget Tomorrow” world tour, launched in support of his latest album, Everything I Thought It Was. Timberlake is scheduled to perform in Chicago this weekend before heading to New York’s Madison Square Garden next week. The North American leg of the tour wraps up on July 9 in Kentucky before moving to Europe for the remainder of the summer and early fall. The tour concludes with a return to North America in October, ending with a December 20th show in Kansas City.
