Filmmaker Karan Johar took to Instagram on Friday to pay tribute to his late father, Yash Johar, on his birth anniversary. The celebrated producer, known for films like Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham and Kal Ho Naa Ho, passed away in 2004, leaving behind a legacy in the Indian film industry. Karan Johar shared nostalgic throwback photos from his childhood, expressing his deep connection with his father.

Karan Johar’s Heartfelt Tribute

Karan Johar’s Instagram post included several images capturing intimate family moments. One of the photos featured a family hug with his mother Hiroo Johar and his father. Another highlighted a proud moment between father and son, when Karan released his debut directorial film, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai. Karan expressed in the post that his father was proud of his accomplishments and that the memory of these moments remains etched in his heart.

In his caption, Karan wrote, “Stole a few moments of nostalgia to share here today, marking my papa’s birthday…Miss you every day papa, thank you for being the brightest guiding light for me, till date.”

Yash Johar’s Legacy

Yash Johar, the founder of Dharma Productions, was a towering figure in Bollywood, known for producing memorable films that blended emotional storytelling with grand visuals. Films like Dostana and Agneepath (1990) cemented his reputation as a masterful producer. He passed away at the age of 74 due to complications from a chest infection, following a battle with cancer.

Speaking of the professional front, KJo’s last directorial venture was Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani, which was released last year in July. Starring Alia Bhatt and Ranveer Singh. It marked Karan’s comeback after a 7-year-long hiatus. Karan is currently busy promoting Call Me Bae, a web show backed by his production banner.
