Kareena Kapoor Revealed She’s A Fan Of Saif’s Ex, Amrita Singh But Never Met Her, ‘She’ll Always…’

For the unversed, Kareena and Saif dated each other for a long time before tying the knot in 2012. They are parents to two sons, Taimur Ali Khan and Jehangir Ali Khan.

For the unversed, Kareena Kapoor is Saif Ali Khan’s second wife, as he was earlier married to actress, Amrita Singh. Saif and his first wife, Amrita parted ways in 2004 after 13 years of togetherness. However, contrary to popular belief, Kareena has always maintained a very respectful relationship with Saif Ali Khan’s ex-wife, Amrita Singh and their children, Sara Ali Khan and Ibrahim Ali Khan.

Kareena Kapoor revealed she is Amrita Singh’s fan
Back in 2008, in an interview with People magazine, Kareena Kapoor talked about Saif Ali Khan’s ex-wife, Amrita Singh. She called herself a fan of Amrita and shared that the latter will always be important to her as she is Saif’s first wife and the mother of his children. Kareena was quoted as saying:
“I respect the fact that Saif was married before and has two lovely children. I have been a fan of Amrita Singh. I haven’t met her ever, but I know her through her films. For me, she’ll always have a place of importance in his life because she is Saif Ali Khan’s first wife and the mother of his children. And, I’ve told Saif this.”

Kareena further added that she would like Amrita to have the same respect in the years to come. She also mentioned that though Saif and Amrita’s marriage didn’t work out, she always encouraged Saif to be friends with his ex-wife. Bebo shared that she will always respect Amrita, no matter what. In Kareena’s words:
“I would want her to have that kind of respect always. This is what my parents have taught me. At the end of the day, it was just a marriage that didn’t work out. I have always encouraged Saif to be friends with her because I think that would be great. I guess they will just need time but that’s something that they would need to deal with. I will always respect her. As far as any other relationship of Saif is concerned, I don’t think they really mattered.”

When Amrita Singh helped Sara and Ibrahim get ready for their father’s second marriage to Kareena
Not just Kareena Kapoor Khan, even Amrita Singh has maintained a modern and respectful stance about her ex-husband, Saif Ali Khan and his second wife. She tries her level best to ensure that her past with Saif should not come in between his relationship with their children, Sara and Ibrahim. Earlier, reports were rife that Amrita had stopped her children from attending their father’s marriage to Kareena Kapoor in 2012, However, Amrita quashed those rumours and revealed that she herself got her kids ready for the wedding. She had mentioned:
“Let me tell you, I was the one who put together the entire wardrobe for my daughter that evening. I also dressed up both my kids, Sara and Ibrahim, for Saif’s wedding with Kareena.”
