There is finally an update on Karisma Kapoor’s series Brown which has been under production for some time. She will be headlining the show with actor Surya Sharma of Undekhi fame. The series has been helmed by Abhinay Deo. The series is reportedly based on Abheek Barua’s 2016 book City of Death.

Last year, the actress spoke about the series and revealed that her character Rita Brown is different and diverse and she had to be stripped of all the glamour and glitz to fit into the shoes of the character. She said, “I’ve had a long career, I’ve been there, done that, done a variety of roles, but when I read the character Rita Brown, I just felt it, because she was so different, so diverse — she was flawed, but human, super smart, super intelligent, and you can literally see the growth of this woman. For me, as an actress to be stripped down of all the glamour and the glitz, that was extremely interesting for me.”

Besides Karisma Kapoor and Surya, the series also features Soni Razdan and Jisshu Sengupta in key roles.
