In an interview with ANI, Konkona emphasized that her concern lies not with the portrayal of violence itself but with the necessity and intent behind it. She stated, “I don’t have a problem with depicting violence on screen as long as there is very good reason for it. Even sex. I don’t have a problem with viewing sex but I don’t want to be there just for the sake of it. I don’t want to see violence just for the sake of it. I don’t want to see sex for the sake of it.”
The actor highlighted the importance of substance and justification in the inclusion of such elements in a film. Konkona stated, “There has to be a reason why it’s there in the film because it connects to the characters or it connects to the plot, or whatever it has to justify itself. That is one thing, why is it there? What is the intent of the director?”
Talking about Animal, the film also featured an ensemble cast with actors like Bobby Deol, Tripti Dimrii, Siddhant Karnick, Saloni Batra, among others playing pivotal roles.
