Lara Dutta has recently weighed in on the unofficial news of her helming the role of Kaikeyi in Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana. In an interview, the actress has stated that she has been hearing the rumours a lot but did not openly confirm their legitimacy.
Some pictures from the sets of Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana went viral on social media a few weeks ago. These pictures, obtained by Zoom, showed Arun Govil as Dasharatha and Lara Dutta as Kaikeyi. Govil was seen interacting with two young artists, probably the actors playing young Ram and Laxman. Lara Dutta, dressed in red and gold saree was seen with Sheeba Chadha, who seems to be playing Kaikeyi’s notorious maid Manthara.
In the interview, Lara also said that she enjoys reading and hearing about these rumours. She laughingly assured her fans that he would definitely want to be a part of Ramayana and play roles like Surpanakha and Mandodari.
While the movie’s cast hasn’t been officially confirmed, Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana is reportedly starring Ranbir Kapoor as Ram and Sai Pallavi as Sita. Sunny Deol is taking up the role of Hanuman while Yash is playing the character of Ravana.
