‘Lopez Vs. Lopez’ Adds Jaime Camil To Season 2

EXCLUSIVE: Jaime Camil (Jane the Virgin, Schmigadoon!) has joined the cast of NBC‘s Lopez vs. Lopez for Season 2 in a recurring role that highlights both his acting and musical skills.

Camil will portray Josué Consuelos, a charming personal injury attorney whose face is on billboards all over Los Angeles. Josué sweeps Rosie (Selenis Leyva) off her feet with romantic baladas he plays for her on his Spanish guitar, leaving George (George Lopez) seething with jealousy.

Lopez Vs. Lopez is a working-class family comedy about dysfunction, reconnection and all the pain and joy in between. Starring the father and daughter duo George Lopez and Mayan Lopez—who co-created the series alongside Debby Wolfe—the series tells the story of a working-class, old-school Latino who moves in with his modern Gen Z daughter as they rebuild their dysfunctional relationship one argument at a time.

Brice Gonzalez, Matt Shively and Al Madrigal also star.

Wolfe and George Lopez executive produce with Bruce Helford, Michael Rotenberg and Katie Newman. It is produced by Universal Television in association with Mohawk Productions, Travieso Productions, Mi Vida Loba and 3 Arts.

Camil most recently hosted the CBS game show Loteria Loca and will next appear in the upcoming third season of the Apple TV+ series Acapulco. Additionally, he starred in two seasons of the musical comedy series Schmigadoon! also from Apple.

He is most notably known in the U.S. for his series regular role as Rogelio de la Vega in the CW’s Jane the Virgin across all 5 seasons. He also starred in and executive produced the CBS comedy series, Broke. Most recently, he brought to life the legendary Vicente Fernandez in Netflix’s El Rey, Vicente Fernandez.

Before making a splash in the English-language market, Camil was already a bonafide star in his native Mexico and stateside for his work in Spanish-language projects both in TV and film. Hits include the telenovela La Fea Más Bella, Por Ella Soy Eva and Qué Pobres Tan Ricos, to name a few.

Camil is repped by Zero Gravity Management.
