Manisha Koirala has been basking in the love she continues to receive even today for Heeramandi. Meanwhile, the actress has been active when it comes to her fight with cancer. Being a survivor herself, Koirala has always showcased immense support towards people suffering from it and has ensured her help to them in times of need. Now, saluting her courage and strength for battling stage IV ovarian cancer, she has received ‘warmest wishes’ from HRH The Princess of Wales.

In a heartfelt letter, the Princess expressed her joy at learning that Manisha is cancer-free after such a serious diagnosis and has been able to continue her professional and charitable work. The Princess of Wales, who herself has faced health challenges and garnered immense public support following her announcement earlier this year, highlighted how the well-wishes of others have been a huge source of strength during her treatment and recovery. The letter concluded with kind wishes for Manisha’s visit to the UK, hoping she enjoys her time during her stay in early October.
Talking about her recent visit to the UK, Manisha visited the London offices of the cancer charity Ovacome, where she met with cancer patients and learned about the charity’s work in supporting those affected by ovarian cancer. Deeply moved by her interactions with patients and the mission of Ovacome, Manisha expressed her desire to use her platform to advocate for cancer awareness, particularly spotlighting critical issues such as health inequalities in the UK and beyond.
“I wanted to reach out to HRH The Princess of Wales to send my good wishes, particularly due to my own experiences. I am deeply heartened to receive such a warm response from her and wish her the very best of health,” said Manisha Koirala. “I want to use my voice to not only support cancer patients but also to raise awareness about the need for equitable healthcare access and the importance of knowing the signs and symptoms of ovarian cancer. Having faced cancer myself, I know how isolating and challenging the journey can be, and I believe it is essential that we all play a part in changing that reality for others,” she added.
For the unversed, Manisha Koirala, who was diagnosed with stage IV ovarian cancer in 2012 and underwent treatment at the renowned Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York. She successfully recovered in 2013 following long hours of surgery and intense chemotherapy treatment. Apart from this, Manisha also works with the impact foundation of Tata hospital in Mumbai and Cancer care in Nepal.
