Netflix is set to ignite screens with Back in Action, a high-energy espionage comedy that marks the long-awaited return of popular Hollywood star Cameron Diaz to the screen after a decade. Directed by Seth Gordon of Horrible Bosses fame and co-written with Brendan O’Brien, best known for the film Neighbors, the film reunites Diaz with actor Jamie Foxx after over a decade in a thrilling tale of ex-CIA spies whose quiet family life is upended when their cover is blown. With a powerhouse supporting cast including Glenn Close, Kyle Chandler, and Andrew Scott, Back in Action promises an exciting adventure infused with sharp humor.
Netflix drops teaser trailer of Back In Action as Jamie Foxx and Cameron Diaz reunite after a decade
On Thursday, the makers dropped an high-octane, adrenaline pumping teaser that gives a glimpse of the CIA spies’ journey, showcasing what the audiences can expect from this action extravaganza. Speaking about Back In Action, the film takes us to the life of Emily and Matt, who years after giving up their life as CIA spies to start a family, find themselves dragged back into the world of espionage when their cover is blown.
Just a day ago, the lead cast along with Netflix dropped a BTS video of Diaz and Foxx bonding along with glimpses of the trailer as they teased their social media fam with an impending announcement on Wednesday.
With Jamie Foxx, Datari Turner, Brendan O’Brien, Tim Lewis as executive producers and produced by Jenno Topping, Peter Chernin and Sharla Sumpter Bridgett (Ford v Ferrari, Hidden Figures, Luther) for Chernin Entertainment; Beau Bauman (Central Intelligence) for Good One Productions; Seth Gordon for Exhibit A, Back In Action is a high-octane actioner and it will be premiering on Netflix, releases on January 17, 2025.
