Paris Olympics 2024, Day 15 LIVE Updates: Welcome to ABP Live’s live coverage of India’s action on Day 15 of the ongoing Paris Olympics 2024. India had a productive Day 14, as a Bronze medal from Aman Sehrawat in the Men’s Freestyle 57kg event in Wrestling help India extend it’s medal tally to 6 at this year’s Games.
Wrestling Saves India’s Day 14, With Golf And Athletics Producing Disappointing Results
However, the nation endured disappointing result in Golf, as Diksha Dagar and Aditi Ashok failed to qualify further ahead by finishing outside Top 40. In Athletics, the Women’s 4x400m Relay team was a big disappointment, as they finished last in their heat by a significant margin.
Even though the Men’s 4x400m Relay team failed to progress ahead, the runners managed to record their season-best attempt and missed out on qualification by fraction of milliseconds.
What’s Next Ahead For India
India are going to wrap up thier journey at the ongoing Paris Olympic Games with Wrestling, as Reetika Hooda will be contesting in the Women’s Freestyle 76kg Round of 16. The fixture is scheduled to start at 02:30 PM (as per Indian Standard Time) and the nation will be hoping to equal their record-breaking medal tally they achieved at Tokyo Olympics 2020 (7 medals), as India currently sit with six medals in their cabinet (1 silver, 5 bronze).
If a positive news comes out from the verdict of Vinesh Phogat, the record will be equalised. India have had a controversial Olympic Games in Paris this year as few ‘interesting’ decisions, alongside the Vinesh Phogat case have seen the side suffer at times.
Overall, India can learn from their shortcomings in Paris this year, as the likes of Lakshya Sen, Manika Batra, Mirabai Chanu were expected to win a medal but they could not do so. All eyes will be now on Reetika Hooda, as she will be facing Bernadett Nagy of Hungary.
