PM Modi Receives Warm Welcome from Indian Diaspora in Brazil
Prime Minister Narendra Modi received a vibrant welcome from the Indian diaspora in Rio de Janeiro on 18th November as he arrived for the G20 Leaders’ Summit.
Outside Hotel Nacional in Rio de Janeiro, the Indian diaspora welcomed PM Modi with a traditional dandiya ceremony, vibrant Gujarati dancers, and Vedic chants by Brazilian scholars. Diaspora members also presented gifts to the Prime Minister.
The community showed excitement by waving Indian flags and displaying pictures of PM Modi.
One diaspora member shared their excitement about meeting the leader of one of the world’s largest democracies, while another expressed pride in seeing him in person.
PM Modi arrived in Brazil on 18th November as part of his three-nation tour following his visit to Nigeria. Indian delegates, including Ambassador Suresh Reddy, received him.
On X, PM Modi shared his excitement about attending the G20 Summit in Rio de Janeiro, expressing eagerness for productive discussions with world leaders. He also posted photos of his warm welcome from the Indian diaspora at the airport.
Before Brazil, PM Modi concluded a successful visit to Nigeria, where he met President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. They discussed defence, technology, health, education, and collaboration on Global South development goals. India also sent 20 tons of flood relief aid to Nigeria.
At the G20 Summit, PM Modi will represent India as a Troika member, continuing the momentum from India’s presidency last year.
