Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to visit Ayodhya in Uttar Pradesh on December 30 to inaugurate the redeveloped railway station and the new airport ahead of the January 22 Ram temple consecration ceremony.
The PM, who is scheduled to flag off a Vande Bharat Express train, will also address a public meeting and likely oversee the progress of the Ram Temple construction.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Thursday visited the temple town to oversee the preparations for the PM’s visit.
Adityanath, who reviewed the progress work of the Ram Temple and the development works in Ayodhya, directed officials to decorate the temple town with the “grandeur of Treta Yug”.
Officials said that during an interaction with priests and seers, they suggested the CM to organise cultural events and bhajans at different places in the town to make the city “Rammanya (filled with feeling of Lord Ram)”. There were suggestions to organise chanting of “Swastivachan” mantra for well-being and peace, officials said.
“Apart from directing quick completion of some of the pending works for amenities, beautification, and development, the CM also gave instructions to deploy additional sanitation workers, prepare tourist digital map for visitors, and make special security arrangements along with a detailed traffic plan,” a senior district administration official said.
Not only the road traffic plan, officials were told to make preparations for the landing of airplanes as about 100 aircraft are likely to land at Ayodhya airport on the day of the consecration ceremony.
Considering that people from across the country and the world will visit Ayodhya following the consecration ceremony, the CM directed that tourist maps of Ayodhya should be prepared in all Indian languages and languages of the countries that are associated with Ram or where Ramayana is performed.
Officials said that the CM also directed that works related to the Ram Path, Bhakti Path, Janmabhoomi Path, and Dharma Path and the road connecting Ayodhya airport bypass to Nayaghat should be completed promptly.
The CM also directed officials to speed up preparations for January 22 event and ensure proper accommodation of visitors along with security. With dharamshalas and hotels being pre-booked in advance for the Pran Pratishtha ceremony, the CM directed the local administration to ensure that such registrations are cancelled and rates are fixed for dharamshalas and hotels so that they do not escalate.
