Portion of roof at Delhi airport’s Terminal 1 collapses on vehicles, 3 injured | Delhi News
Three people were injured after a portion of the roof at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi Airport Terminal-1 collapsed amid heavy rains, Delhi Fire Services (DFS) officials said. The roof fell on cars, including taxis on early Friday morning.
One person is believed to be trapped under the collapsed roof and fire department personnel are involved in a rescue mission, officials added.
The Union Minister of Civil Aviation, Ram Mohan Naidu Kinjar took to X to inform that he was personally monitoring the roof collapse incident at T1.
“First responders are working at site. Also advised the airlines to assist all affected passengers at T1. The injured have been evacuated to hospital. Rescue operations are still ongoing,” he wrote in the post.
Total four fire tenders were rushed to the site on Friday morning, and further details are awaited.
