Much to the excitement of fans, Sandeep Reddy Vanga announced his first collaboration with none other than Telugu superstar Prabhas with a film titled Spirit. While this has been on the cards for quite some time now and although the pre-production of the film has been in the works, now there has been a major development wherein the reports have suggested that the makers have decided to take the film on floors this year itself, during the summer.

According to a Pinkvilla report, a source was quoted confirming the details and said, “Sandeep Reddy Vanga has almost completed the writing process of Spirit and is ready to take the film on floors from Summer 2025. The filmmaker is planning to make the most commercial film of his career with Spirit, and is planning to reinvent the cop genre with this action packed thriller. He has designed a novel story-telling pattern in the commercial palette of a cat & mouse chase, and the intent is to blow away the mind of audiences”. Rumors suggest that the cop-action drama is a remake of the 2001 Chiyaan Vikram starrer Dhill.

Actor to undergo physical training

Considering the intensity of the role, we hear that the actor has been undergoing extensive prep to play the character with conviction. Meanwhile, Prabhas, who is busy completing The Raja Saab, is expected to be locking the shoot dates soon with the director and producer of Spirit, Bhushan Kumar. “It’s going to be Prabhas like never before in Spirit. He is committed to get into a certain physique to play the part of an honest yet twisted cop. He has allotted bulk dates to Bhushan Kumar and Sandeep Reddy Vanga for Spirit starting from May 2025,” the source added.

While the film is expected hit cinemas somewhere around in 2026, the rest of the cast and other details continue to stay under wraps.
