Business tycoon, Anant Ambani’s wife and Mukesh-Nita Ambani’s youngest daughter-in-law, Radhika Merchant, was among the top 10 most searched persons on Google India in 2024. She became the nation’s talk because of her six-day star-studded wedding from July 12-30, 2024. Radhika hogged the limelight for all the pre-wedding festivities, which included guest lists from across the world.

The whole world watched, and thousands gathered on the streets of Mumbai when Anant Ambani married Radhika Merchant. She bagged the eighth spot on the list, which wrestler, Vinesh Phogat topped. She came into the limelight after she was disqualified for being overweight in the Paris Olympics by only 100 grams during the 50 kg final freestyle game. The incident caused the word “100 gm” to trend on X, and she became known as the “forever golden girl.”

After Vinesh, the Chief Minister of Bihar, Nitish Kumar, was second on the list. He gained a lot of fame during the Lok Sabha Elections in 2024. His political strategies in shaping India’s political landscape made him a meme topic of discussion. Apart from him being the most searched personality, former actor, Chirag Paswan, the son of the late Union Minister Ram Vilas Paswan, ranked 3rd on the list. Ever since he and Kangana Ranaut had become winners in the 2024 Lok Sabha Elections, their viral pictures of the Miley Naa Miley Hum co-stars floated online. Chirag’s transition from acting to political life made him one of the most searched personalities on Google in India.
India’s ace cricketer, Hardik Pandya, hogged the fourth position as his divorce from model, Natasa Stankovic, became an intense topic of discussion on Google. From Natasa dropping ‘Pandya’ from her surname to speculations that the duo was doing a PR stunt, in the name of separation, their joint divorce post put an end to all speculations related to their relationship.
Hina Khan and Nimrat Kaur were also searched on Google
Moving ahead with the list, in the fifth position, Deputy Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, Pawan Kalyan’s name, emerged. The list also had the names of Hina Khan and Nimrat Kaur, whose names were most searched on Google worldwide. Hina’s name surfaced after she revealed being diagnosed with stage three breast cancer. Google also revealed the most searched movies which were Stree 2, Kalki 2898 AD and Laapataa Ladies. Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s debut web series, Heeramandi: A Diamond Bazaar was the most searched show in India.
