Director Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana has been in the news everyday because of reasons like pictures from the shoot getting leaked and there being reports of the film being in legal troubles. Now, the film is in the news because it has become India’s most expensive film yet.
The Ranbir Kapoor, Sai Pallavi and Yash starrer becomes the country’s most expensive film as it is said to have a staggering budget of USD 100 million. This budget of 835 crore is just for the first part of the film. In an interview, an insider revealed that the makers want to transform the film into a global spectacle and immerse the audience in a visual feast.
The only other films with a budget that exceed the Rs 500 crore mark are Prabhas and Deepika Padukone starrer Kalki 2898 AD, Adipurush and RRR. Ramayana will also have 600 days of post-production and reportedly the makers are now eyeing a 2026 release.
