Rashami Desai has always set an example throughout her years in the industry. Many of her fans especially admire her for always staying true to herself and flaunting her individuality proudly. In a recent conversation with Bollywood Bubble, Rashami, who is known for always speaking her mind, talked about how body shaming can affect both women and men. She said:
“Criticism about the body isn’t just limited to women but even men. Be it women or men, fat shaming of any form and type isn’t cool and shouldn’t happen. You never really know the exact reason why someone is of a certain weight. What if they are trying to lose weight but are unable to due to certain complications? It’s like adding salt to someone’s wound.”
Rashami then opened up about her personal experience with fat-shaming. Revealing that she had reached a point in life where she simply didn’t care anymore, the actress said:
“People should be more empathetic in nature. Just like anyone else, I too have had my share of judgements regarding my weight and body but I have stopped caring about them. I know what is best for me and what I need to do to engage in that direction. I don’t care.”

“While a lot of people have given in to this kind of pressure, I am fortunate to have never given up to such pressure. I feel God has been quite kind with the way I have been made and I am grateful to the universe for the same. I am absolutely and entirely happy with how I appear. I receive a lot of love for the way I am and I only have gratitude for people due to this.”
