Rings of Power Season 2 trailer shown at Comic Con
The new season promises a heavier focus on fan-favourite characters such as Elf politician Elrond (Robert Aramayo), dwarf prince Durin IV (Owain Arthur), and elf warrior Galadriel (Morfydd Clark). Co-showrunner J.D. Payne teased, “Sauron is afoot. There’s trouble, danger, death, and battle.”
One notable absence is the healer Bronwyn (Nazanin Boniadi), while beloved character Tom Bombadil (Rory Kinnear) joins the ensemble. As expected, the titular rings of power take centre stage, with Sauron forging them to control Middle Earth leaders.
Season 2’s official description teases Sauron’s return and his efforts to rebuild his strength and oversee the creation of the Rings of Power. Beloved characters face a rising tide of darkness, challenging them to find their place in a world on the brink of calamity.
