A SPECIAL MP/MLA court in Bulandshahr district on Friday sentenced Sikandrabad MLA Laxmiraj Singh, district BJP chief Vikas Chauhan and four other party members to a jail term of 22 months and 20 days in connection with a road blockade case in 2014.

The four BJP workers are Anil Pradhan, Sachin Kumar, Ajay Tyagi, and Sudhir Sharma.

The court also imposed a fine of Rs 25,500 on each of the six. The convicts were granted bail by the same court on Friday as the sentence period was less than two years.

All the six accused were booked under IPC Sections 147 (rioting) and 341 (wrongful restraint) on October 24, 2014, when they along with 10-15 unidentified people had blocked a road outside the Bulandshahr district hospital and raised slogans against the local police for not being able to arrest the killers of one Rajkumar alias Habbu.
