Brothers, Sanjay Kapoor and Anil Kapoor marked their debut fairly in the same decade of ‘90s, but have marked out strikingly difficult career paths moving forth. The duo, who have strikingly similar facial features belong from an illustrious film family, headed by the father and eminent yesteryear filmmaker, Surinder Kapoor. However, while Anil went ahead and marked a terrific professional success, Sanjay wasn’t able to reach the same level, and by the mid-2000s, his career tanked significantly. Nonetheless, Sanjay never lost hope and in the subsequent years, became a part of quite a few hit films.
Sanjay Kapoor reveals if inevitable comparisons with Anil Kapoor hamper their equation
In an interaction with Shivani Pau, Sanjay Kapoor discussed whether inevitable professional comparisons with her brother, Anil Kapoor has ever impacted their interpersonal equations back at home. He remarked that as a family, the Kapoors are a close-knit one and added how he and his two brothers, Anil and Boney lived under the same roof while growing up. Sanjay further revealed that he and his two brothers continue to love and respect each other, even though sometimes they don’t meet each other for months. In his words:
“We lived together, and we were living in a two-bedroom hall when we started off. We are a very close-knit family. Obviously, then you have your own children, everything. There are times when I don’t meet Anil or Boney maybe for a month or month and a half also. But we respect each other, we love each other, and we are intelligent enough to know, okay, this is part of movie making.”

Sanjay comments if his equation with both his brothers have changed with the success and failures of their kids
Well, continuing the tradition of their fathers and uncles, the next generation of Kapoor cousins have also entered into the film industry. After Boney Kapoor, Anil Kapoor and Sanjay Kapoor, it is their kids, Arjun, Sonam, Khushi, Janhvi and Shanaya who have ventured into showbiz and created their own spaces. Talking about them, Sanjay revealed if he and his brothers have altered their equations, when it came to the successes and failures of their respective kids. He explained:
“Today, I have nieces, nephews, they are going through their highs, they’re going through lows, but our relation is not changing according to the Friday of the movie releases of Arjun or Sonam or Janhvi or whoever.”

In the concluding segment of the interview, Sanjay Kapoor mentioned that despite being brothers, it wouldn’t be exactly truthful to say that there is no competition between him and Anil Kapoor. However, while he admitted that the latter was more successful than him, Sanjay claimed that he was happier and more content than Anil. He added:
“I’m not saying there’s no competition. I think it’s a person-to-person thing. I think even though Anil is more successful than me, I always feel that I am happier and more content than him, for whatever reason. I am always saying God is kind. Even if I’ve achieved less than him, I just feel I’m much happier. I’m always in a better mood. I’m not saying he’s sad or anything, but I don’t know how to put it. But I feel I’m more content than him.”

Sanjay Kapoor remarked how his eldest brother, Boney Kapoor didn’t offer help to save his career
In another segment of the same interaction, Sanjay Kapoor highlighted how his eldest brother and filmmaker, Boney Kapoor never attempted to save the former’s dying career by offering him projects. Sanjay took the example of Boney’s film, No Entry, wherein he chose Fardeen Khan over him, while his other brother, Anil Kapoor was already a part of it.
